Advocacy & Consulting Services

I offer a variety of advocacy and consulting services, which can be tailored to meet your specific needs.

My services focus on implementation of appropriate special education services and behavioral interventions based in compassionate applied behavior analysis. I have experience working with individuals across most disability categories, including autism spectrum and related disorders, social and emotional disorders (e.g., anxiety, oppositional defiant disorder), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, communication disorders, learning disabilities, and intellectual impairments.

Educational Advocacy

As an Educational Consultant, I foster collaborative relationships between families and school teams to develop effective, skill-based IEPs. As your consultant, I am able to:

  • Complete an intake interview with parents/guardians to identify areas of concerns and family support needs

  • Review student records, including assessments, IEPs, progress reports, and meeting minutes

  • Translate assessment results into skill-based objectives to support educational progress

  • Interview relevant school staff (with permission)

  • Observe your child at school to directly assess their educational and behavioral programming

  • Meet with parents/guardians to prepare for and debrief after school meetings

  • Attend IEP, IFSP, 504, and/or progress meetings

  • Facilitate collaboration between the family and school

  • Support parents’/guardians’ communication with the school if needed (emails, phone calls)

  • Conduct ongoing progress monitoring to determine if the child is on track to meet their IEP goals

  • Attend mediations and resolution sessions

  • Provide expert witness testimony in due process cases

  • Provide referrals for outside providers or evaluators

School Services

I consult with school districts on programs and/or individual students. I am able to:

  • Assess behaviors and/or functional skills

  • Develop of behavior support plans

  • Train staff in topics such as behavior management and supporting students with social-emotional needs

  • Create data collection systems

  • Design ABA-based lesson plans for a variety of learning targets

I can complete evaluations, such as:

  • Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) in school, home, and/or community settings to identifed the function of a behavior(s) and recommendations for IEP

  • School Refusal Assessment to determine function of the refusal and provide function-based recommendations for family and school

  • Inclusion Assessments to identify barriers to inclusion for students and make recommendations for meaningful inclusion opportunities to promote generalization of skills

Trainings for Caregivers and Schools

I provide a wide range of trainings tailored to your family’s or organization’s specific needs. Examples include:
